Why Volunteer?

  • To participate in projects ranging from tree planting, geoengineering in riparian areas, removing invasive plants, tending our booth at Family Day or being part of our annual salmon carcass toss.

  • To take educational courses related to streamkeeping.

  • To participate in field trips and other events of interest.

  • To receive regular updates, not only of QBSS activities but also of other related items of interest in our area.

  • To join our Board of Directors and play a key role in monthly planning meetings.

  • To be part of a network of stewardship groups working throughout BC and the Yukon. A workshop of these groups is held every other year, with the next one scheduled for 2021, Covid 19 status permitting. Look at the Streamtalk newsletter for more context and some excellent examples of what other groups are doing.

  • To enjoy splashing around in streams, being introduced to hidden waterways and seeing real results from your efforts.
